What Are You Doing This Weekend?!

Fall Home Show Tickets

I won two Home Show tickets thanks to @BlackSebath

The Fall is my favourite time of year! I’m a huge fan of sweater-weather and hot toddies; but the best part about Fall are all the conventions and festivals! This week there are a few events I’m looking forward to attending!

I plan on going to the Toronto Home Show at the Direct Energy Center. The home show is generally the show I spend the most money at! The décor inspiration and house-reno ideas I get from walking around make my synapses fire off and I get a million new project ideas! I love the home show! It’s generally the one convention my family want to sit out!

Last year The Junction Festival‘s musical acts were amazing. The beer was local, the grilled cheese delish, and the friends were drama. This year I hope to avoid the drama and just stick to good food, beer and music. I may add Bunners  cinnamon buns to my to-do list. They are divine and I haven’t had a vegan bun in months.

Word On The Street. I find reading difficult, important, motivating and sexy. I love sitting down with a good book (generally on the TTC, so I can ignore the other commuters). I can’t imagine not being able to read. Literacy is a right in my opinion, and something we should foster and enjoy. I don’t think I have many friends who don’t have a giant stack of books next to their bed. The kids in my life all are readers too, and generally love to get books as b-day and x-mas presents. I usually leave WOTS with a tote full of books from the U of T Vic book sale (the craft and cook books are always great) and tend to pick up new kids books from the discount vendors and local authors at WOTS. It’s generally falls on or near my birthday, so there are usually friends and churros involved!

And last but not least the Dundas West Sidewalk Sale I’ll be sure to pop into The Weekend Vendor Market at 1630 Dundas St West (located on Dundas West, between Brock and Lansdowne). The market always runs Saturday and Sundays from 10-5. It started in August and will be going till the end of October (weather permitting). This weekend is the local BIA’s street sale and it’s sure to be hopping and full of good food and good deals!

Here’s hoping I’ll get some inspiration for some home renos and some good deals on décor!
